WatchWatch
Last night at the dinner table, my son got in trouble for sticking his tongue out at his Mom’s cooking, and I got INSPIRED! I just popped it out of blocking, so now I need to really dive in and start polishing and loosening him up. Already my son is pumped to have dad making an animation about him… even if it was the result of him getting into trouble. All the best!

Nobody Steal This Book Idea
I live in the state of Washington, and the town I grew up in is almost smack dab in the center of the state.  I’ve long since relocated to the Seattle area, because I felt that my hometown lacked the number of beard-wearing, coffee-drinking, better-than-me-because-they-drive-a-Suburu people that I needed to really feel like I was living. The result of this is that there is now roughly a...

Lose the Attitude, People
Today at work I had a situation arise that I’ve been confronted with in the past. Different person, same results. It went something like this: 1. Person asked for a “huge favor” for a tight deadline. 2. I delivered a product in 6 hours, when it should have taken a minimum of 3 days. 3. The person’s reply? “Well this is kind of lame, but I can make it work.” ...

My first book is almost finished!
I’ve mentioned it a few times here, but I used to draw a daily comic strip called “Dog Complex,” and before that an early incarnation of it that went by the name “Dead Air.” Like most comic strips, it started out awful, with bad art and lots of pee jokes, but eventually became something I was quite proud of and wound up landing me an online syndication deal through...

(Injured) Back to the Future
What you are about to read is real. It’s not one of those ‘based on actual events’ Hollywood things, and I have a house full of people to back things up every step of the way. I say this because I’m often a guy who like to exaggerate for the sake of humor, so I want to be clear that what you are about to read is 100% accurate. On Saturday I wandered down to make my Son...

iAnimate - Assignment #2
I’ve officially finished up my first workshop/quarter at iAnimate.net, and this is my near-final 2nd assignment: This was one of those animations that just didn’t want to work out for me. I struggled more with this sucker than anything else I’ve ever animated, even though some of those other shots were far more complicated. No idea what made this one different, but at 18...

iAnimate Rocks!
As some of you may know, I’ve been enrolled in iAnimate for a couple of months now, and was thrilled to find out that some of my work made it into the promo reel for the school! It’s been an amazing experience so far, and I hope to have my second animation buttoned up late this week or early next, so that I can post that one for you as well. Take care!

You Stole It - Probably Very Most Likely Final
I finished this up last night, and unless I get some crazy “this just totally isn’t working” type of feedback on one of the shots, I’m probably good with calling it final. On to the next bit of animation!

Updated Animation and Mr. Bobby "Boom" Beck
First off, here is the update version of my basketball animation, complete with new staging and set: Up until a week ago, it probably would have been the exact same staging and set as in my previous post. That is to say, it would have had zero staging and no set at all. However the Animation Gods smiled on this “young” man, and I was lucky enough to get connected with former Pixar...

My 'Work In Progress' is Progressing Nicely!
Here is the latest update to the animation I started for the 11 Second Club late last year. I’ve had some more time to work on it, and thought I’d post an update: Still nowhere near final, but any progress is good progress!
